Sweep The Moon Shards: Upgrade Uses and Spending Tips

What Do Shards Do in Sweep The Moon?

Sweep The Moon shards give you an upgrade goal beyond buying a bigger brush. You earn them while cleaning, and you can spend them on upgrades such as driving speed. That makes them useful when your cleanup moves from a toothbrush to a sweeper.

Driving speed increases how quickly your vehicle moves. Keep that purchase separate from your cash budget: selling dust pays for the equipment that helps you collect more, while shards give you another way to improve your setup.

How to Keep Earning While You Clean

Continue clearing dust to build your shard balance. Along the way, use the cash from your cleanup to address whatever keeps interrupting your work.

The basic loop is straightforward:

  1. Sweep dust into your canister.
  2. Return to the base and empty it for cash.
  3. Buy brush, canister, or speed upgrades.
  4. Keep cleaning and work toward vehicles and automation.

Choose cash upgrades around the problem you are facing:

  • Your canister fills too quickly: Increase its capacity to reduce return trips.
  • Sweeping feels slow: Work on your brush upgrades, including head width and head power.
  • You leave tiles partly dirty: Finish them to collect tile-completion payouts alongside your sweeping income.

These purchases support your cleanup while you accumulate shards. Avoid draining your cash without considering the next piece of equipment you want to buy.

The Infinite Canister pass costs 99 Robux and prevents your backpack canister from filling. You still need to empty it at the intake to receive cash. Separate those two functions when planning a purchase: unlimited storage lets you keep sweeping, but payment still requires a deposit.

Sell As You Sweep costs 249 Robux, includes Infinite Canister, and pays for dust immediately when it enters your canister. Vehicles you drive also pay as they sweep. You still return to shop, but you can collect sweeping income without making a separate trip to cash in your load.

The 2x Cash pass costs 249 Robux and adds +100% cash to earnings from hand sweeping, driving, completed tiles, and your share of automation. Its bonus adds to payout upgrades, while cash packs are excluded. Keep those cash benefits separate from your shard balance when comparing purchases.

Automation gives you more equipment to build toward: robots, belts, and machines are part of the cleanup. Building a Crusher or Block Press earns the Factory Floor badge; these machines process dust into something better. The +1 Robot Dock pass costs 149 Robux and lets you place one small robot dock for free in every moon. Its robots clean for the whole crew, and picking up the dock makes it free to place again.

Spending Shards on Driving Speed

Driving speed becomes relevant once you are using a sweeper or another vehicle. Save toward that upgrade when driving has become a regular part of your cleanup.

Keep its effect distinct from storage and sweeping upgrades. Faster driving changes vehicle movement; a larger canister changes how much dust you can carry. Choose the improvement that addresses the part of your current routine you want to speed up.

Before spending, use this checklist:

  • Already driving regularly? Consider putting shards toward driving speed.
  • Still sweeping by hand? Continue your brush and canister progression with cash while building your shard balance.
  • Constantly returning to unload? Address capacity rather than expecting a movement upgrade to solve the interruption.

There is also a separate Fast Vehicles game pass priced at 149 Robux, which adds +30% speed to any vehicle you drive. That is a Robux purchase; budget for the shard upgrade through the in-game upgrade menu.

Head Start, another separate pass, costs 199 Robux. Once per moon, it places a paid-for walk-behind sweeper in the first empty vehicle bay. That bay is shared, so your crew can drive the sweeper too. If every bay already contains a vehicle, the pass supplies none for that moon.
